Description:
The Senior Associate will be part of a team that is a recognized leader in the area of adolescent literacy; responsible for marketing, service delivery, and ongoing refinement of the School-wide Program for Improving Reading and Learning (SPIRAL) program.
Responsibilities:
- Making presentations to groups of district leaders and others to generate interest in SPIRAL.
- Preparing proposals in response to district needs and conditions.
- Conducting orientation and planning sessions to launch the process.
- Coordinating and overseeing data collection.
- Analyzing data on school capacity, literacy-related instructional practices, and student achievement.
- Preparing reports that present data and recommendations in a manner that stimulates positive action.
- Delivering professional development services to teachers in middle and high schools.
Qualifications:
Doctorate preferred. Extensive background in high school reading and education reform as well as teaching or administrative experience at the high school level. Strong analytical thinker with excellent writing and presentation skills who is highly committed to improving education through a focus on literacy. Must be able to analyze data on school-wide literacy capacity and work collaboratively with district and school teams to develop implementation plans for literacy improvement.
