In an April 4, 2012 letter to the Center for Law and Education, the U.S. Department of Education (ED), Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS) withdrew its June 16, 2011 informal guidance on the maintenance of effort (MOE) requirement for local education agencies (LEA) under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
