To assess and improve compliance and coding management for this large, state-funded teaching hospital.

PCG Health™ performed extensive reviews of the hospital’s compliance, service reporting, medical records procedures, and internal policies. PCG Health determined ways in which the public facility could optimize compliance through more effective coding management, policies and timely reporting. By implementing internal controls to provide accurate, consistent, and sustainable operational improvement, PCG Health was able to create a highly responsive infrastructure that emphasized compliance and audit protection.

The Result:

Some of the key results PCG Health has helped Shattuck Hospital to realize:

  • Increased revenue 400 percent in six years;
  • Improved quality of consultation documentation from 11% compliant to 73% compliant;
  • Improved frequency of billing for inpatient professional services in 82% of clinicians trained;
  • Raised general compliance awareness at executive and staff level.

    PCG Health’s employees and management group readily integrated with hospital staff to become very much part of the team, which continues to this day. PCG Health not only competently performed functions by increasing revenue 400 percent in six years, but did so with a strong commitment to the integrity of the process. PCG Health has efficiently maximized revenues while maintaining full compliance with CMS conditions of participation and other third party payer requirements. That is an uncommon combination in a business where many consultants over-promise their capabilities and/or take short cuts that land hospitals in trouble with OIG.
