Case Study: Connecticut Bureau of Rehabilitative Services
State of Connecticut Bureau of Rehabilitative Services
Strategic plan implementation. Resource mapping. Website development.
PCG Human Services™ was engaged to help 11 agencies in the State of Connecticut implement a strategic plan to increase the employment rate of disabled citizens. The project involved mapping the major state-level processes and programs associated with moving disabled persons to employment.
PCG Human Services interviewed key staff members at State agencies to understand state processes used by individuals with disabilities. PCG Human Services then mapped the processes through which a client receives services, defining and gauging each agency’s success rate and efficiency at moving individuals with disabilities into employment. Areas of focus included:
- Average time for a client to ‘move’ through the system;
- Barriers to moving a client through the system efficiently;
- Barriers to accessing the agency;
- Success rate for the client.
PCG Human Services also provided the State with an analysis of programs and services available to transitioning youth with disabilities. This information assisted the State in determining program overlap and areas of service need.
PCG Human Services provided the State of Connecticut with a comprehensive view of state employment services for individuals with disabilities. Following the initial project, PCG Human Services developed www.ctschooltowork.com, a website that enables individuals to search for transition services. Hosted by PCG Human Services, the website asks individuals for their age, disability, location, and service provision and provides the individuals with resources that may be helpful as they transition to employment.
