Boston, MA, January, 2013 – The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded $1.5 billion to states to support health insurance marketplace building efforts. The Affordable Care Act (ACA) requires that each state have a health insurance exchange (Exchange) operating beginning in 2014. Among the grants awarded, the state of Delaware, a PCG Health client, has received two Level One Exchange Establishment Grants. [More]

The Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight (CCIIO) announced on August 23, 2012 that California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Iowa, Maryland, Nevada, New York, and Vermont have won an additional $765 million in health insurance exchange establishment grants. California, Hawaii, Iowa, and New York received substantial increments in “level one” grants. Connecticut, Maryland, Nevada, and Vermont won their first “level two” grants, multi-year awards to States demonstrating excellent progress in level one. [More]

The Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight (CCIIO) released on August 14 its final “Blueprint for Approval of Affordable State-based and State Partnership Exchanges” under Title I of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The “blueprint” requires applications from States electing to fully operate Exchanges as well as States electing to perform selected exchange functions in partnership with a “Federally-facilitated Exchange (FFE).” [More]

The Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight (CCIIO) announced on May 16 that Illinois, Nevada, Oregon, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Washington have won an additional $181 million in health insurance exchange establishment grants. Washington becomes the second state, after Rhode Island, to win a “level two” exchange establishment grant. Aggregate exchange grants awarded to states under Title I of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) now exceed $1 billion. [More]

The Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight (CCIIO) announced on November 29 that it is awarding $220 million in health insurance Exchange establishment grants to 13 states under section 1311 of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Twelve states (Alabama, Arizona, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Maine, Michigan, Nebraska, New Mexico, Tennessee and Vermont) received notification of “Level One” Exchange establishment grants and Rhode Island won a $58.5 million “Level Two” grant for seven projects building on progress that it achieved under “Level One.” [More]
