Chalkbeat article highlights one NYC Renewal School’s efforts to adopt EngageNY curriculum

Throughout the last school year, PCG has worked with teachers and administrators at Juan Morel Campos Secondary School in Brooklyn—one of 94 schools participating in the New York City Department of Education’s (NYCDOE) “Renewal” turnaround program—to support the school’s implementation of EngageNY curriculum. PCG designed the EngageNY curriculum with the New York State Education Department (NYSED) and has partnered with schools across the state to support implementation efforts and help build teachers’ capacity around the new curriculum. The work being done at Juan Morel Campos was the focus of a June 7th Chalkbeat article, in which Peter Seidman, an education consultant at PCG, shares his experiences working directly with teachers to develop techniques for instructing the high-needs students. The article, “How one ‘Renewal’ school is trying to reach high needs students by making classes harder,” is available here
