Psychological and Pedagogical Assistance

PCG is a leading provider of consulting and technology solutions to support the organization of psychological and pedagogical assistance at schools. We gained our expertise through nearly 25 years of cooperation with schools and local governments in the U.S., during which time we assisted with the implementation of the special education reform, the development of efficient practices, and the establishment of strategic processes.

Since January 2010, we have been actively engaged with policy and school leaders to monitor the legislative changes in the area of psychological and pedagogical assistance at schools implemented by the Ministry of National Education. We have gained an in-depth understanding of the new legislation in the area of special education and are well positioned to guide schools through an implementation to meet the goals of the legislation. In collaboration with a team of experts from Poland and the U.S., we have developed an offer of professional consulting services coupled with an innovative technology application to structure and sustain effective management of the organizational changes to support students with special needs at any school, regardless of its type and level.

Consulting and training services

PCG offers a wide range of consulting and training services to support schools as they organize practices and procedures to comply with the new psychological and pedagogical regulations and meet the implementation schedule set by the Ministry of National Education. Services are developed in collaboration with clients to ensure successful results. Proposals are structured to meet specific client needs and priced accordingly.

Analysis and interpretation of the new legislation

PCG offers training services to help schools analyze and interpret the new regulations in the area of psychological and pedagogical assistance. As part of the training, PCG consultants identify regulations that are relevant to a given school, indicate the key implications of the legislation for the management and teaching staff, and recommend proven strategies for successful implementation. In addition to training, the schools receive a written report which highlights the most important regulations included in the law enacted by the Ministry of National Education in November 2011.

Organization of psychological and pedagogical assistance

PCG helps schools develop the tools and procedures required to organize the psychological and pedagogical assistance in compliance with the new regulations. In the first phase of the project, PCG consultants facilitate moderated discussions with the school representatives in order to identify current procedures for supporting students with special educational needs. Based on the collected information, identified best practices, and special education data standards, PCG proposes procedures to meet the requirements of the new regulations and fit the organizational and financial capacities of the Client school. As part of the project, PCG presents the methodology for creating school teams of teachers and specialists and introduces strategies for performing the multidisciplinary assessment of student needs. At the conclusion of the project, PCG presents the Individualized Education Program, Support Plan, and Student Services Card templates and provides instruction for teachers on how to complete the documents with relevant student information.

Planning and implementation of the reform

PCG helps schools plan how to provide the psychological and pedagogical assistance in compliance with the new legal regulations and within the tight timelines set by the Ministry. In the course of the meetings and discussions with the school representatives, PCG helps to develop a clear implementation strategy, including the division of roles and responsibilities and a detailed timeline. In addition, PCG defines the tools for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the school activities and sets the benchmarks for successful implementation of the reform. One of the tangible results of the training is the detailed action plan adjusted to the specific conditions of a school.
