On April 6, the Administration for Children and Families (ACF) issued a request for comments to be sent to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), on the Paperwork Reduction Project regarding the Child and Family Services Plan (CFSP), which is required under Title IV-B, in conjunction with the Annual Progress and Services Report (APSR) and the CFS-101 financial report.  An estimated 51,845 hours are spent by ACF in reviewing annual submissions for the CFSP, ASPR, CFS -101, Parts I, II, and III and Caseworker Visits.  In an effort to review that process and the additional burden added through the Child and Family Services Improvement Act of 2006, which expanded APSR and the CFS-101 reporting by adding a provision requiring states to report data on caseworker visits, the Act revised sections of Title IV-B, subparts 1 and 2.  There are approximately 180 Tribal entities that are eligible for Title IV-B funding, along with 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico, in which means a possibility of 232 responses to review.

OMB is required to make a decision concerning the collection of information between 30 and 60 days after publication in the Federal Register.  Comments and recommendations should be sent directly to:  OMB, Paper Reduction Project, fax 202-395-7285, or email OIRA_SUBMISSION@OMB.EOP.GOV, Attn:  Desk Officer for ACF.
