The Administration on Aging (AoA) announced two competitive grant opportunities on June 9 under which up to $14 million will be available to state agencies serving older Americans with dementia and their family caregivers. Federal funding will be available to states through cooperative agreements under Title IV of the Older Americans Act and the Alzheimer’s Disease Supportive Services Program under section 398 of the Public Health Services Act. AoA is seeking to work with state applicants to develop and implement single point of entry/no wrong door access to innovative, evidence-based, integrated long term care services and supports to help dementia afflicted individuals remain as independent as possible in their communities.  Competitive grant applications are due July 27. Awards are to be announced by September 30.
