Mark Tornow

A field associate with PCG Education, Mr. Tornow works with the firm's education content consulting team on data services, instructional leadership, and program evaluation and improvement projects. He currently works with the Tennessee Academic Specialists Program as Director of Special Projects, as well as the Florida Rural Turnaround Leadership and NJ SMART data professional development projects. He has more than 30 years of experience working and teaching in the education field at the elementary and secondary levels.

Experience

Prior to joining PCG Education, Mark served as an elementary principal near Nashville, Tennessee. Under his leadership, the school was recognized by U.S. Department of Education as a No Child Left Behind Blue Ribbon School in 2006 because of its significant improvement in student achievement, despite a high student poverty rate. Mark also served as an executive director of a non-profit educational organization and was a program manager with the Tennessee Department of Education in the Division of Assessment and Evaluation. Prior to that, he served as a principal, assistant principal, teacher, and coach in schools spanning elementary and high school settings.

Education

Mr. Tornow earned a Master of Education in Educational Administration at Concordia University, Irvine, California. He received his Bachelor of Science in Education from Concordia Teachers College (now University) Seward, NE.
