Experience

Robb has been engaged in education and school improvement efforts since 1991, beginning with his experience as a classroom teacher. During his 9-year teacher career, he taught English on a ninth grade cross-curricular team, working to improve achievement for general and special education students. He co-planned and co-taught classes with a special education teacher that were project-based and assessment-driven, in order to differentiate instruction for students of widely varying needs. In 1995-1996, Robb was selected as a Martha Holden Jennings Scholar. He was also honored by the Central Ohio Special Education Regional Resource Center as a Franklin B. Walter Outstanding Educator in 1998.

Beginning in 2000, Robb worked to expand his influence on educational reform by working as a school consultant for the Co-nect model of Comprehensive School Reform in schools throughout Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois. The focus of this work was to establish team-based school structures that could improve instruction and student achievement through improved classroom assessment and technology integration. Robb’s focus on using data to improve professional development programs eventually led to his participation in a U.S. Department of Education grant and his development of professional development specifically targeted on improving school and district capacity to incorporate data use practices into strategic improvement plans. This work, in turn, developed into a comprehensive program to build district capacity through professional development for principals and data coaches. Robb continues to devote his work to improving education through data use and leadership development, through his work consulting to districts and states with PCG Education. Robb holds a B.A. in English from Capital University of Bexley, Ohio.
