Janice Paterson, Esq, PMP

Ms. Paterson brings significant state Medicaid regulatory experience to her role at PCG, having served as Acting Medicaid Director and Bureau Chief, Medicaid Policy for the state of New Hampshire prior to joining the firm. At PCG, she has provided quality assurance analysis and services to the state of Maine, Department of Health and Human Services, and state of New York, Department of Health. She also participated in the independent verification and validation (IV&V) of the Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS) for the state of New Hampshire’s Department of Health and Human Services, providing evaluation of the general system design. Ms. Paterson is currently engaged in providing HIE services to the state of Mississippi and SMHP services to the states of Mississippi and Nebraska. She has presented the HITECH regulatory framework at national conferences and has presented a series of Webinars on HIE planning to interested public officials in states across the nation. Experience

Prior to joining PCG, Ms. Paterson served as Bureau Chief, Medicaid Policy and as Acting Medicaid Director for the state of New Hampshire, Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). She was responsible for Medicaid policy planning for 90,000 Medicaid recipients and successfully completed a Medicaid Pharmacy Preferred Drug List for New Hampshire that resulted in significant savings for the state’s Medicaid program. Ms. Paterson also served as Counsel to the New Hampshire Pharmacy and Therapeutics Advisory Committee and as Counsel to the Office of Community and Public Health.

Education and Affiliations

Ms. Paterson received a Bachelor of Science, cum laude, from University of New Hampshire and a Juris Doctor degree from Franklin Pierce Law Center. She is a member of the New Hampshire Bar Association, the Merrimack County Bar Association, the American Association for Public Welfare Attorneys, and the National Academy of State Health Policy.
