Title IV-E Waiver Readiness Tools, Part 1 - Waiver Readiness Quick Assessment

On an all-state call December 6 sponsored by PCG, the National Governor's Association, and the American Public Human Services Association (APHSA), Heather Baker from the PCG Human Services Child Welfare and Juvenile Justice team discussed the new federal legislation that allows states to apply for Title IV-E waivers that would let them to spend Title IV-E more flexibly than in the past. In addition, Kevin Kelly of North Carolina Department of Human Services discussed that state's experience with a Title IV-E waiver. PCG and APHSA have developed two tools to help states assess their readiness for a waiver: a Quick Financial Assessment Tool and a Reflective Thinking Guide.
