news

Public Consulting Group (PCG) is proud to announce it has been selected as the vendor that will provide Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) and Quality Assurance (QA) services for the Franchise Tax Board’s Enterprise Data to Revenue (EDR) Project, Phase 2 (EDR2). The EDR project is part of a long-term IT strategy developed by the Franchise Tax Board known as the Tax System Modernization (TSM), with the goal of increasing efficiencies and services to taxpayers, maximizing transparency, and increasing revenue. EDR Phase 1 laid the foundation for TSM by delivering the necessary infrastructure and software architecture for a consolidated platform, while EDR Phase 2 will focus on building upon that platform to deliver enterprise case management and modeling, while also decommissioning outdated legacy systems and increasing services to taxpayers.

Over the course of the project, PCG will track over 2,000 functional and technical requirements and deliver IV&V and QA tasks and deliverables, including a comprehensive review of project documents and assessments of project processes. This engagement is being led by Aftab Mohammed, Director for the Technology Consulting Practice Area. His team is comprised of seven analysts – many of whom, like Aftab, were part of EDR Phase 1. The team will lead risk-based, deep dive assessments on a number of project areas, including requirements, design, build, test, and deployment. The IV&V and QA team will, based on their areas of expertise, lead risk-based, deep dive assessments on a number of project areas, including requirements, design, build, test, and deployment. These detailed assessments will facilitate early identification of project risks, help to provide guidance and recommendations for mitigation strategies, and ensure that the Franchise Tax Board has the support they need to make the EDR2 project a success.
