PCG Cares: Making an impact in March

Throughout March, PCG Cares teams across the U.S. supported various nonprofit organizations in the core industries we also serve as a firm: education, health, and human services.     New Maryland law assists individuals to qualify for Medicaid automatically based on information on state tax return

    On Monday, May 13, 2019, Governor Larry Hogan (R) signed a bill into law, which will automatically assist individuals to become enrolled in the state’s Medicaid program. The new law will permit a taxpayer to check a box on the state tax return which will cause the state’s health care exchange to determine if the person qualifies for Medicaid, based on the information in the tax return.

    With the convergence of the Family First Prevention Services Act (Family First Act) and the Comprehensive Child Welfare Information Systems (CCWIS) regulation changes, child welfare leadership are faced with the unprecedented opportunity to rethink the citizen experience.     Best practices for employment specialists as published in Journal of Vocational Rehabilitation

    Employment specialists are professionals who support people with disabilities with finding and succeeding in work. Research shows that integrated employment (i.e. jobs held by people with the most significant disabilities in typical workplace settings where the majority of employees are not persons with disabilities) can lead to an expanded social network, higher wages, a passion, and a career – so employment specialists have the power to facilitate and change the course of a person’s life.
